Program Objectives

In its residents, the program shall develop:

  • a culture of patient safety in the practice of medical physics

  • a culture of quality by understanding the role of trust implicit between clinical teams. Quality builds trust.

  • knowledge, skills, and competencies required for safe application of technology in the practice of radiation oncology

  • an appreciation of the clinical purpose and application of sophisticated technologies

  • the ability to use analytical and research methods for problem solving in a clinical environment

  • communication and interpersonal skills, and their importance to function in a collaborative environment

  • the professional attributes and ethical conduct and actions required of medical physicists

  • a desire for career-long learning to keep professional knowledge and skills up-to-date
