Cardiac Intensive Care - Unit 4700

Unit 4700 room This unit is a 25-bed unit that provides nursing care for adult and elderly patients requiring intensive care. The patient diagnoses are usually cardiac in origin. Nurses are skilled and competent to care for the patients with conditions such as acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina, cardiogenic shock, hypertensive crisis, malignant dysrhythmias, decompensated cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure, cardiac transplant with infection or rejection episode, hemodynamic instability, and coronary artery stenosis requiring invasive interventional procedures. Nursing care is focused to meet the psychological, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients. Nurses are highly trained to manage intensive hemodynamic monitoring equipment and to provide expertise in using supportive mechanical, i.e., IABP.
