Medical and Surgical Oncology - Units 9200 and 9300

These two 24-bed units are staffed by nurses who provide and coordinate acute and intermediate care for medical and surgical adult patients. Patients are admitted for diagnostic work-up, medical management, and post-operative care. Patient care required may include: induction therapy, on-going treatment regimes, surgery, and radiation treatments. Patient population includes: hematology/oncology, gynecology, general surgery, head and neck surgery, and radiation medicine services. Great emphasis is placed on excellence in care giving, teamwork, and education, and all the nursing staff are encouraged to become certified by the oncology nursing society.
