How are applications received?

All applications must be submitted via ERAS.

Is a PGY1 position available in the neurology residency?

Yes, we are a categorical program offering PGY1-4 training.

Does an applicant have to apply and match to an internship separate from the neurology application?

No, applications are accepted for the categorical program and residents are accepted to the PGY1-4 program, all organized through neurology.

Does your program accept applicants from osteopathic medical schools?

Yes

Does your program accept applications from international medical school graduates?

Current ECFMG certification and a complete application will be reviewed from international medical school graduates.

What are the requirements for an applicant to be considered for an interview?

A strong and complete application that demonstrates commitment to neurology, professionalism, appropriate communication skills, interest in the mission of LLUMC, MSPE, medical school transcript, USMLE scores, at least 3 letters of recommendation from supervisors familiar with the applicant's skills with at least one from a neurologist.

Will my application be reviewed if it is incomplete?

No.

How is the interview process planned?

Interviews are offered via email, interviews may be scheduled on any of the interview dates with availability through the Thalamus Platform.  After all interview slots are full, applicants will be placed on a waiting list for a preferred date.

What is the interview schedule?

Interviews will be exclusively virtual for this application cycle. Scheduling will occur once applications are reviewed and offers for interviews extended and occurs through the Thalamus platform.

What is the application deadline?

December 15.

Are alternate interview days available if an applicant can’t attend one of the scheduled interview days?

No.

How many residents are in the program?

Four residents are accepted per year.
