Medical Intensive Care - Unit 9100
The nurses in the MICU provide care to a diverse patient population, ranging from young adult to geriatric patients. The patients consists of unstable, critically ill individuals which possess a wide variety of illiness, including respiratory failure, DKA, GI bleed, and sepsis. The MICU patient is frequently in need of intensive treatment including invasive hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive drug infusions, and mechanical ventilation.
Through a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care this progressive 20-bed unit provides care to the physiological and psychosocial needs of the patients. In addition, a grief recovery program provides support to families who have experienced the loss of a loved one
